Felt Hancock was a good bet for the archetype ever since the wiki was created, so why don't I propose her.
What's The Work?[]
One Piece is a world famous manga and anime franchise created by Eiichiro Oda in 1997 and is still continuing and kicking today.
Who Is She?[]
"Pirate Empress" Boa Hancock is a supporting character in the series. She is the empress of the Kuja tribe, one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea before its scrapping, and an ally to the main cast.
What Makes Her a Light-Novel Calamity Princess?[]
Basic Traits[]
- Heroic: Hancock has assisted the Straw Hats multiple times in the series and also saved Amazon Lily and her people from the Marines and the Blackbeard Pirates.
- Powerful: Hancock possesses the Mero Mero no Mi, a powerful Devil Fruit that can turn people into stone.
- High-Ranked: She is the empress of Amazon Lily, and one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea before its disbandment.
- Massively Destructive: Using her Devil Fruit, Hancock has been able to petrify many people at the same time.
- Beautiful: Hancock is considered by many characters to be the most beautiful woman in the world.
- Intelligent: Hancock has a tremendous amount of intelligence and cunning, and has used it well in every instance it has been used.
- Has Leadership Skills: Being the empress of the Kuja tribe, she would definitely have good leadership skills.
Bonus Traits[]
- Long Hair: Hancock has long hair.
- Is a Love Interest: Hancock holds a crush on Luffy, even though he is largely unaware of it.
- Tragic Past: Hancock has one of the most painful pasts in the series, as she and her sisters were captured by slavers back when she was 12 and sold to Celestial Dragons, who treated them to the greatest horrors imaginable, including force feeding her the Mero Mero no Mi, just for their entertainment. Her trauma directly impacted her, as she avoided showing weakness toward anyone, refused to be captured out of fear of being enslaved again, and shows distrust toward men (especially men affiliated to the World Government).
Verdict?[]
Easy yes, if you ask me, Hancock is easily the best example of a Light-Novel Calamity Princess in the shonen genre. However, whether she fits is up to you.
